Job Description

Purpose:

Independently generate precise, reliable and reproducible data in a timely manner. Demonstrate experimental precision and strong data interpretation skills and should possess understanding of core discipline.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine tasks competently and independently, and generate reliable and consistent results.

  • Analyze and critique results, noting significant deviations.

  • Learn and understand new experimental techniques.

  • Demonstrate skill in multiple techniques and appropriately modify protocols, as required, to suit the changing needs of research or development sciences.

  • Demonstrate technical proficiency in his/her field.

  • Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, and safet

  • Creates peptide array designs by converting scientist requests into a precise and complete array design

  • Communicates with design requesters to understand their precise intentions, provides guidance on requesting designs, and conveys output of design requests

  • Reviews array designs for accuracy and completeness

  • Follows guidelines for creating and reviewing designs and communicating design completion to team members. Documents steps taken to complete a design.

  • Contributes to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to optimize design processes and software

  • Follows best practices for code version control and documentation

  • Acquires / maintains informatics and computing knowledge base

  • Contributes toward writing documentation and performing data analysis/processing

  • Runs data analysis / processing software and pipelines to analyze data

  • Modifies existing scripts, or writes new scripts to solve data analysis problems

  • Documents data analysis methods

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent education, with typically 3 or more years' experience or Master's Degree or equivalent education (no additional experience.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge to carry out job function.
  • Experience in computer scripting / programming (e.g. python and shell)
  • Experience with workflow management systems (e.g. JIRA) to collaborate with a team and share status updates
  • Experience working in Linux systems
  • Ability to follow documentation to run a data analysis pipeline
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of biochemistry a major plus
  • Knowledge of git and code version control practices
  • Experience managing software virtual environments, and interpreting written instructions to setup, run, and compile software
  • Ability to conduct independent research and evaluation of software and technologies
