Key job responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer on our Global Real Estate Tech team, you will be at the forefront of Amazon's AI transformation into the commercial real estate space. You will:
- Pioneer AI Implementation: Lead the development of proprietary AI solutions that will transform how Amazon evaluates, acquires, and optimizes its worldwide facilities network
- Drive Business-Critical Decisions: Create systems that directly inform billion-dollar real estate decisions through predictive analytics and machine learning models

A day in the life
- Lead and mentor software engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical guidance
- Develop AI-powered solutions that analyze real estate data, optimize facility utilization, and automate site selection processes
- Collaborate with real estate experts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Lead, guide and participate in architecture reviews to ensure scalable, maintainable designs that can support Amazon's global real estate portfolio
- Enhance existing applications with new features that leverage geospatial intelligence and AI capabilities
- Write clean, efficient code following Amazon's engineering best practices and documentation standards
- Review team members' code contributions, providing actionable feedback that improves overall code quality

About the team
Global Realty Tech manages software tools to drive AI-powered automation, centralize data and rapidly move our workflow forward with regards to what buildings Amazon launches. Since inception, these tools have grown to encompass Amazon's worldwide operations: we now cover thousands of active new launches, retrofits, and lease-related projects. We create global standards for managing data related to these immense capital projects. Our team consists of 15 engineers working closely with data scientists and real estate professionals.

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
