The Post-Bac. Research Associate & Project Coordinator will be tasked with leading research initiatives, including the Listening with Curiosity Project (LCP). They will oversee behavioral coding and data analysis, supervise and mentor research assistants/students, and write scholarly papers. Additionally, the role includes administrative responsibilities, grant writing, and assisting with the publication of findings from the LCP data.

Additionally, they will also lead the development of a Social Health Training Institute rooted in the Listening with Curiosity framework and the work of Dr. Niobe Way. This includes program design, trainer coordination, and institutional development. This work will serve as a gift to the Project for the Advancement of our Common Humanity (PACH) and is intended to build a long-term, sustainable training model.

Key Responsibilities

Institute Development & Program Execution (35%)

  • Design and implement a strategic plan for the Training Institutes launch and pilot programming
  • Lead development of curriculum and training materials based on the LCP methodology
  • Coordinate pilot workshops and trainings, ensuring alignment with the LCP method
  • Oversee onboarding and supervision of new trainers

Research Leadership (35%)

  • Lead and manage the research team tasked with coding and analyzing data from the LCP, including training and supervising research assistants to ensure high-quality research outputs
  • Write and contribute to research papers/manuscripts based on the LCP data to relevant scholarly journals
  • Document pilot programming and training outcomes for evaluation and future funding
  • Co-author scholarly or field-based publications based on program findings

Managerial Duties & Team Coordination (20%)

  • Coordinate scheduling of project meetings and manage the calendar across trainers, researchers, and collaborators
  • Organize institutional meetings, timelines, and deliverables

Sustainability & Grant Preparation (10%)

  • Lead and participate in the development of grant proposals (e.g., budgets) to secure funding for research

In compliance with NYCs Pay Transparency Act, the hourly pay rate for this position is $30.22. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

  • At least 2 years of experience with the LCP
  • Prior service as a trainer in the April 2025 LCP Workshop
  • Training in Transformative Interviewing framework and familiarity with Dr. Niobe Way's work
  • Demonstrated leadership in institutional or program development
  • Strong communication, writing, and team coordination skills
