Department Summary
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry offers undergraduate major and minor degrees in Chemistry and Biochemistry, and Graduate Degrees at the Master's and PhD level.
Our undergraduate program provides training for students planning careers in the chemical and biological sciences, and also for those in biology, health-related disciplines, earth sciences, secondary education, business, journalism, and law.
Position Summary
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is seeking qualified applicants for its open pool for research positions. Positions are limited-duration appointments that are part-time or short-term contracts not to exceed one year. There may be a possibility of renewal up to a total of three years, depending on programmatic need, funding, and performance.
Research Assistant positions will conduct research under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI). Research Associate positions will conduct research with only general guidance from the PI. Postdoctoral Scholars will conduct research under the direction of a faculty member to acquire research training. In addition to career development, the postdoctoral scholar and PI will create and follow mentoring and individual development plans.

Minimum Requirements
Minimum qualifications by rank:
- Research Assistant (Type B): Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or related field
- Research Assistant (Type C): Master's degree in biology, chemistry, or related field
- Postdoctoral Scholar: Doctoral degree in biology, chemistry, or related field
- Research Associate: Terminal degree in biology, chemistry, or related field

- Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students from a variety of diverse backgrounds.
