Chemical Operator Job Description The primary function of the Chemical Operator is to learn all aspects of the Bulk Material Handler and Scale House Operator positions as part of the Operator training. This role enables a smooth transition into Operations when a position becomes available. The Bulk Material Handler responsibilities include sampling, monitoring, and loading/unloading incoming trucks and railcars, monitoring tank levels, and performing material transfers within the tank farm daily. Responsibilities Perform sampling, monitoring, and loading/unloading of incoming trucks and railcars. Monitor tank levels and perform material transfers within the tank farm. Function as the scale house operator as needed. Conduct scale operations and complete clerical duties such as answering telephones, data entry, and paperwork compilation. Monitor assigned company email for updates including work schedules, instructions, and production updates. Learn plant operations and perform basic maintenance as requested. Essential Skills 1+ year of chemical operation experience or compounding. Understand and troubleshoot basic pump operations including cavitation, seal leaks, and vibration. Proficiency in using basic tools such as pipe wrench, crowbar, pliers, and screwdrivers. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Basic familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook and Excel. Ability to calculate tank levels using basic math. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
