Summary of Duties:
The Viticulture Research Program at Washington State University is seeking qualified applicants for a 12-month, full-time, post-doctoral researcher position based on the WSU-IAREC campus in Prosser, WA.
The successful candidate will conduct basic and applied research related to wine grape water and temperature stress, and nutrient management; apply sensing and data acquisition technologies for vineyard water and nutrient management; collaborate with other research programs and industry stakeholders; and participate in outreach to grape growers and participate in development of research proposals and scholarly outputs.
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will develop basic and applied research related to wine grape water and temperature stress, and nutrient management (40%); apply sensing and data acquisition technologies for vineyard nutrient management (20%); collaborate with other research programs and industry stakeholders (15%); and present research findings at industry meetings, scientific conferences, and in peer-reviewed journals and stakeholder publications (25%).
Additional Information:
Annual Salary: $48,000 - $73,000 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications
In accordance with the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Required Qualifications:
PhD in viticulture, horticulture, agriculture, environmental science, project management, or a related field at time of hire.
Demonstrated experience with experimental design and basic and applied research.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated record of scholarly accomplishments
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences in oral, written, and electronic forms
Ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams
Bilingual (English, Spanish)
