- Perform daily analytical tests according to applicable test methods and procedures.
- Test and analyze samples to determine strength, stability, purity, chemical content, and other characteristics.
- Prepare chemical solutions for use in processing materials, following standardized formulas and experimental procedures.
- Assist in laboratory projects related to microbiology testing.
- Follow established company policies and procedures while setting up lab equipment and instrumentation.
- Produce test investigation reports for any out-of-specification test results.
- Document results of tests and analyses accurately.
- Maintain laboratory equipment through daily cleaning and consistent preventive maintenance.
- Ensure cleanliness of the work environment.
- Work on semi-routine assignments, recognizing the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice.
- Refer to high-level staff for assistance with higher-level problems when necessary.
- Escalate issues to a supervisor for resolution as needed.
- Assist with various projects as assigned.
- Proficiency in laboratory practices including Chemistry, Quality Control, and Microbiology.
- Experience in wet chemistry and titration techniques.
- Ability to perform pipetting and viscosity measurements.
- Understanding of atomic absorption and inductively coupled plasma spectroscopy.
- Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Competence in Quality Control (QC) for raw materials and finished products.
- Previous lab experience (academic lab experience is satisfactory).
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry preferred; candidates with Microbiology or Biology experience will also be considered.
- College students with relevant experience could be considered.
- Experience working with laboratory instruments such as Atomic Absorption (AA) instruments and ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma) Spectroscopy is preferred.
- Some understanding of GDPs and SOPs is preferred.
The work environment is primarily in the lab, with the technician spending most of their time there. The role operates on the first shift from 11 AM to 7:30 PM. This position offers a great opportunity for gaining valuable experience and serves as a strong resume builder.
