This position is a full-time three-year clinical position. Requirements: PhD or MD with at least two-years HLA research/clinical experience in an ASHI accredited clinical HLA lab. After the completion of the required clinical training in CTIL, this person will take the responsibilities including but not limited to the following:
- Report to the CTIL Directors regarding all clinical and research activities,
- Assist CTIL Manager in clinical functions, including proficiency test assignments and tracking,CAPA / QA activities, scheduling and training staff, and representation at daily huddles for both CTIL, Clinical Labs, and the Transplant Center,
- Evaluate, interpret, and report clinical test results,
- Resolve technical problems as needed and instructed,
- Directly involved in evaluation/validation and implementation of new technologies,
- Establish protocols and procedures for laboratory tests,
- Assist with Identification and implement technical and non-technical policy changes,
- With the lab CLIA directors authorization/delegation, performing the final review/verification of all laboratory results,
- With the lab directors instruction, attending weekly transplant meetings and providing Histocompatibility testing interpretation and advice in the absence of lab director,
- Present teaching sessions to the technologist and clinical coordinators as required,
- Assist the lab directors in conducting and/or supporting clinical research,
- Assisting in writing abstracts and manuscripts describing the clinical findings developed in the laboratory. Present papers at scientific meetings as needed.
It is highly encouraged to conduct clinical research. However, this director-in-training position in the CTIL is a clinical training position and the clinical responsibilities are the priority. The percentage of FTE devoted to clinical research and other activities will need to be approved by the lab CLIA director.
