Client Overview:

Our client is a growing personal care company. Their team is now looking for a Quality Control Technician (Cosmetics).

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$25/hr - $28/hr

Position Overview:

The Quality Control Technician (Cosmetics) is responsible for ensuring that raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. The Quality Control Technician (Cosmetics) plays a critical role in maintaining product consistency, safety, and efficacy across formulations.

Responsibilities of the Quality Control Technician (Cosmetics):

  • Perform routine analytical testing on raw materials, bulk products, and finished goods using methods such as pH, viscosity, density, appearance, odor, and microbial screening.
  • Use instrumentation such as balances, pH meters, viscometers, and spectrophotometers to verify product quality.
  • Conduct stability studies and evaluate results to ensure shelf-life compliance.
  • Document test results accurately in accordance with GMP and SOP requirements.
  • Investigate deviations or out-of-spec results and assist in root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with R&D, production, and regulatory teams to support product releases and improvements.

Required Experience/Skills for the Quality Control Technician (Cosmetics):

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience, preferably in the beauty or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.
  • Proficiency in performing viscosity and pH measurements, density, DSC, melting point, drop test, graph test, fluidity, total solids, and water bath analysis to verify formulation integrity.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and work collaboratively within a small team.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Quality Control Technician (Cosmetics):

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience, preferably in the beauty or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.
  • Proficiency in performing viscosity and pH measurements, density, DSC, melting point, drop test, graph test, fluidity, total solids, and water bath analysis to verify formulation integrity.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or relevant experience.
