- Independently prepare and analyze samples using analytical SOPs and instrumentation specific to the department.
- Perform routine operation, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Assist with validation and MDL studies.
- Support the investigation and preparation of responses to client inquiries and Corrective Action Reports (CARs).
- Input and maintain technical information to support laboratory functions and operations.
- Maintain Laboratory Notebook where applicable.
- Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience in extraction, titration, pH testing, and handling of various acids, bases, and reagents with appropriate PPE.
- Proficiency in organic extraction, metals analysis, and experience as a GC or GCMS technician.
- Strong experience in General Chemistry including wet chemistry, titrations, dilutions, pH testing, viscosity measurements.
- Experience in environmental science is beneficial.
- A minimum of experience in sciences through education, work-related experience, or a combination thereof.
- Comfortability with handling various acids, bases, and reagents using appropriate PPE.
- Knowledge and concern for environmental issues is advantageous.
- Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to work under minimal guidance and manage shifting priorities.
The role is situated in a chemistry lab focused on extractions. Business hours are Monday through Friday, 9PM- 5AM or 8PM - 4PM, but flexibility is required as longer hours, evenings, and weekend work may be necessary. The position demands a high level of integrity and respect for company principles, alongside excellent time management skills to balance multiple projects with varying deadlines.
