Senior Scientist-CONTRACT ONLY

Job Description

The Scientist will design and execute experiments to evaluate and characterize novel formulations, processes, and components. This role supports the development of delivery technologies and analytical tools for Lipid Nanoparticles, particularly in mRNA-based therapeutics. The candidate will perform robust and effective experimentation to formulate, characterize, and evaluate the stability of Lipid Nanoparticles, and design and execute process development and scale-up activities to support pre-clinical studies. Additionally, the role involves providing technical representation in cross-functional meetings and executing the creation and implementation of project plans supported by strong scientific rationales and technical approaches.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments to evaluate and characterize novel formulations and processes.
• Support the development of delivery technologies and analytical tools for Lipid Nanoparticles.
• Perform robust and effective experimentation for formulation and stability evaluation.
• Design and execute process development and scale-up activities for pre-clinical studies.
• Provide technical representation in cross-functional meetings.
• Create and implement project plans with attention to project priorities, milestone deliverables, and timelines.

• PhD with 1-3 years or BS/MS with 8+ years of experience in industry.
• Experience with Lipid Nanoparticles, Formulation Development, and analytical characterization.
• Proficiency in mRNA and protein characterization.
• Solid understanding of formulation, analytical characterization, and drug delivery fundamentals.

• Ph.D. in Chemical or Biomedical Engineering (or related subject area) with 0-3 years or BS/MS with 8-10+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience working on formulation and characterization of diverse modalities including mAbs, fusion proteins, and RNA modalities.
• Strong scientific and organizational skills with the ability to lead projects independently and work efficiently within a team.
• Consistent record of creative thinking and problem-solving.

The role is based in a laboratory environment, requiring onsite presence five days a week. Employees enjoy a dynamic workplace culture with access to a gym and cafeteria onsite. The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.
