At Amazon Advertising, we are developing state-of-the-art experimentation frameworks and real-time applications using terabytes of data. The Bidding Science and Experimentation team develops and maintains a sophisticated experimentation framework that enables teams to run self-service online experiments across the ad serving stack. Our systems process billions of ad impressions daily to power experimental capabilities across Amazon's Display Advertising platform.

As an engineer on the team, you will design and develop products that are at the heart of advertising experimentation systems that enable data-driven decisions through sophisticated A/B testing capabilities. You will have responsibility to help define requirements, create software designs, implement code to these specifications, define continuous integration testing and support products while deployed and used by our customers. You will have complete ownership of technology choices, architecture, experimentation frameworks, code deployments into production environment and operations for the products you own. We're looking for engineers interested in developing real-time experimentation systems that process tens of billions of requests/day using core technologies, Big Data, and Applied Science.

Key job responsibilities
You will have responsibility to help define requirements, create software designs, implement code to these specifications, define continuous integration testing and support products while deployed and used by our customers.

A day in the life
You will work closely with Applied Scientists, Data Scientists, Product Managers and high performing Software Engineers to build and maintain experimentation frameworks, monitoring systems, and result analysis capabilities for large-scale advertising systems.

About the team
The team builds the Experimentation Platform with advanced capabilities across Amazon DSP. Our system includes experiment configuration, scheduling, monitoring, and analysis components that help teams make data-driven decisions efficiently and reliably.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 3+ years of programming using a modern programming language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 2+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with Cloud technologies
- Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project
- Experience designing and implementing large-scale distributed data processing systems using technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or similar frameworks

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
