FLSA Status: Exempt

Salary Range: $57k - $59k

Location: Germantown, MD

Job Overview:

We are seeking a motivated Associate Bioanalytical Scientist I to join our Germantown, MD team. In this lab-based role, you will contribute to regulated bioanalytical research by supporting the analysis of biological and radiolabeled samples, data documentation, and equipment operations. You'll gain hands-on experience with instrumentation such as HPLCs, Liquid Scintillation Counters, and CHN Elemental Analyzers, while collaborating with experienced scientists in a GLP-compliant environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in day-to-day operation of the Laboratory, the analysis of samples and associated duties.
  • Participate in daily lab operations, including sample analysis and processing.
  • Handle and pipette biological samples with precision and care.
  • Perform fraction pooling, wheel aliquoting, contamination surveys, and general solution preparation.
  • Support radiochemical and dose formulation analysis, including purity and concentration assessments.
  • Execute sample preparation techniques such as protein precipitation, solid-phase extraction, and liquid-liquid extraction.
  • Perform basic operation and routine maintenance of laboratory instruments, including HPLC systems (Agilent 1200 series preferred), Liquid Scintillation Counters, CHN Analyzers, and Sample Oxidizers.
  • Assist in training and mentoring Lab Technicians in the operation and maintenance of lab equipment and general laboratory techniques.
  • Prepare and review data tables and reports using the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Organize and collate raw data from instruments and lab documentation into the electronic study file.
  • Review forms, SOPs, and laboratory paperwork for accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), GLP regulations (21 CFR parts 11 and 58), GCP, and ICH guidelines.
  • Assist with quality control for stock solution preparation and documentation practices.
  • Monitor inventory of project-specific supplies, control matrix, and reference materials to support study timelines.
  • Support general lab cleanliness and maintenance.
  • Maintain positive, professional relationships with team members and support a collaborative working environment.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor of Science in a related field with 1-2 years of experience, or a Master of Science in a related field with no prior experience.
  • Hands-on experience working with HPLC systems (Agilent 1200s preferred), Liquid Scintillation Counters, and Oxidizers is a plus.
  • Familiarity with GLP, GCP, and ICH guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a regulated laboratory environment.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to mentor junior staff.
  • Experience in a regulated or quality-controlled environment preferred.
