Senior Scientist - Analytical Science

Location: Richmond, VA

Pay: $40 - 48.5/hr

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist to join our Clients Analytical Science and Technology team. This role is responsible for developing, validating, and troubleshooting analytical methods for Dietary Supplements and Over-the-Counter (OTC) products, ensuring data accuracy andpliance with internal quality standards and global health authority expectations.

The Senior Scientist will supportplex problem-solving initiatives and method optimization across the Haleon Consumer Healthcare network. Expertise in techniques such as HPLC, UPLC, GC, and LC-MS is essential. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong foundation in analytical chemistry and amitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development, validation, and implementation of robust analytical methods.

Provide technical expertise in analytical instrumentation, including installation, qualification, calibration, and maintenance.

Drive project success by managing timelines, collaborating cross-functionally, and delivering innovative solutions toplex technical challenges.

Ensure fullpliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), data integrity standards, and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in analytical methods and instrumentation across the Haleon network, supporting investigations and resolving method-related issues.

Plan and execute analytical testing using HPLC/UPLC/GC/MS to support project milestones and deliverables.

Champion a culture of continuous improvement by leading quality, safety, and performance initiatives, encouraging team involvement and innovation.

Act as an instrument owner, managing incident investigations and approving maintenance and calibration events.

Communicate effectively in a matrixed environment, managing expectations of internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills

Required:

Bachelor's degree in a Life Science (e.g., Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences)

Minimum of 10+ years of experience in analytical method development, laboratory instrumentation, or applied analytical chemistry

Preferred:

PhD in Chemistry with 3+ years of relevant experience

MS in Chemistry or related field with 7+ years of relevant experience

Strong hands-on experience with HPLC/UPLC and chromatographic techniques

Deep understanding of analytical method lifecycle, lab instrumentation, calibration practices, and method troubleshooting

Proven ability to lead technical projects independently and manage cross-functional collaborations
