Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chemistry Technician II to join our fast-paced, high throughput laboratory. This role involves planning, performing, and completing projects under direct supervision, with opportunities for growth into Method Development and Validation roles. The ideal candidate will be part of a close-knit team in the Discovery Support Lab, contributing to various analytical chemistry projects.

Responsibilities

Plan, perform, and complete projects under direct supervision.

Execute method performance, transfer, development, feasibility, and validation.

Demonstrate proficiency in setting up, adjusting, operating, and calibrating laboratory equipment.

Independently perform lab tests to determine physical and chemical characteristics.

Conduct data analysis and initiate technical assessments.

Utilize data acquisition software and instrument operating software effectively.

Adhere to standard concepts, practices, procedures, and regulations.

Exercise a certain degree of independence and judgment in primary functions.

Perform other duties or special projects as required or assigned.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in HPLC, wet chemistry, and GC (Chromatography).

Experience in stability testing.

Knowledge of analytical chemistry with a BA/BS in Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific degree preferred.

1-4 years of related industry experience in an analytical laboratory.

Understanding of laboratory safety precautions and protocols.

Strong organization, communication, and analytical skills.

Intermediate mathematical skills, including algebraic functions, statistics, and geometry.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Ability to communicate technical and business information effectively.

Capability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Flexibility to work varied and extended hours/days as business dictates.

Physical ability to lift/carry/move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment

Work in a dynamic, fast-paced laboratory environment with a total of 45 employees, including 27 technical staff. The Discovery Support Lab consists of a Lab Manager and 7 other team members. The position operates on a 1st shift schedule, Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $28.00/hr.
