Downstream Processing Laboratory Technician

Description :

• We are looking for a Lab Support Technician to help the Gene Therapy Purification Development team

• This laboratory-based role will help facilitate the studies that are needed to get life-saving treatments to patients.

• The technician will help maintain the smooth day-to-day operation of the lab by completing routine cleaning, stocking, and maintenance/calibration activities.

• Preparing materials and setting up equipment for upcoming studies.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory space

• Complete calibration and preparative maintenance for laboratory equipment, including Cytiva AKTA, benchtop pH and conductivity probes, and biosafety cabinets

• Preparing and filtering buffers for experiments

• Staging materials for studies

• Sample management

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, biotechnology or related field with 0-2 years of relevant experience.

• Organized and highly detailed

• Strong communication and collaboration

• Ability to safely complete the standing, bending, lifting (up to 30 lbs), and fine motor skill tasks associated with working full time in a laboratory setting

• Experience managing laboratory operations

Technical Certification Bonus: Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
