Senior Research Associate/Associate Scientist, Biology

Orum Therapeutics is seeking an energetic and self-motivated scientist with hands-on technical experience in oncology. This non-PhD level scientist will join a global team working towards discovery of unique anti-cancer compounds for the treatment of targeted patient populations. This individual will contribute to project teams by generating data to support project advancement.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will perform experiments to support oncology programs, as well as discovery research
  • Independently design, execute and interpret in vitro experiments to explore therapeutic potential of drug targets
  • Analyze experimental data and present work to cross-function teams at internal meetings
  • Write experimental reports, summaries and protocols
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and inventory for cell lines, and other important reagents
  • Mentor other junior associates and train them on lab techniques
  • Adhere to laboratory's quality control policies
  • Actively contribute scientifically to research pipeline and pathway to IND

Skills, Abilities & Competencies

  • 5+ years of industry experience with hands-on expertise in oncology or cell biology
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture of adherent and suspension cell lines is required
  • Experience with wide range of cell-based techniques such as reporter cell assays, cytotoxicity assays, antibody internalization analysis and flow cytometric cell analysis is highly preferred
  • Proficiency in molecular, immunological and biochemical methods such as JESS, ELISA, AlphaLISA, qRT-PCR is highly preferred
  • Flexibility to accommodate to rapidly changing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent record keeping abilities to document analytical data generated in support of regulatory requirements
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Strong scientific curiosity and resilience, for addressing complex biological questions through innovative thinking

Education- B.S./M.S. or equivalent in biology, immunology, pharmacology or a related field.
