Student Chemistry Lab Assistant This position is for the 2025-2026 academic year, beginning Fall 2025. Position Overview: Student Chemistry Laboratory Assistants support Science Faculty by preparing, cleaning, and maintaining laboratory spaces and play an important role in promoting the Science Department's mission of giving students hands-on experience in laboratory settings. Averages 8-10 hours per week Essential Duties:

• Prepare and collect supplies and reagents to be used in their assigned labs.
• Communicate with faculty about lab conditions that need faculty attention (ordering supplies, equipment maintenance, etc).
• Maintain clean lab and prep spaces.
• Wash and put away used glassware.
• Assist faculty with lab maintenance related projects.

Working Conditions: Student chemistry lab assistants will be working with a range of chemicals including acids/bases, oxidizing agents, flammable liquids, and solids. All necessary training, personal protective equipment, safety equipment, and hazardous waste disposal containers will be provided. To be eligible to be a CSP student employee, one must:

• Be enrolled and registered as a CSP student (PSEO students are not eligible).
• Have a United States social security number.*
• Have proper identification as determined by Form I-9.
• Be in good standing with CSP academic requirements and student accounts.
• For summer employment, priority will be given to the student employees who are enrolled and registered in summer courses.
